This picture as well stood out to me on "Look Book". I love everything about this picture. What seems to be on trend that we saw in class and I'm seeing a lot more of lately now everywhere is sheer and see through lace or knits. I can't tell if they are over sized pants or if i's just a long dress but the small shoulder bag and matching chunky heels make the outfit.

Graphic/Studs/Leather

The positives on having an iphone is the unlimited amount of apps, especially fashion apps. One fashion app I use on a daily basis is called "Look Book". It contains postings of pictures from teens-young adults from all over the world. Everyone is so on trend and this specific picture above stood out to me. She is wearing the heel-less shoes covered in studs, the smaller leather, simple, hand bag, graphic print leggings and crazy unique sunglasses. I love the style.

The Platform Shoe

   The platform shoe for women has been a popular trend for some time now but is still increasingly becoming more prominent. Most platforms have a heavy 70's feel or a Gothic inspiration to them. The higher and chunkier the heel the better. (Toya Moulden)

The Cut Out Trend

  The cut out trend is very popular especially for the red carpet. From small cut outs to large ones they can accent a garment well. This trend is very sexy and if done well it can look sexy as well as classy. (Toya Moulden)

Collar Necklace

   The collar necklace is a very trendy fashion statement that brings a bold and elegant look to an outfit.. You can embellish your shirt collar or add your own accent collar with this big and bold necklace. This necklace can make a plain outfit pop and will look get with blazers or/and a plain blouse. The Sheer Maxi Skirt

    A recurrent women's wear trend I notice in my Trends and Topics class is the sheer maxi skirt. Sheer fabrics and maxi skirts will be very popular especially this summer. You can find a sheer maxi skirt in Nordstrom or stores like American Apparel and H&M. Above is a sheer maxi skirt with an opaque under mini skirt paired with an also trendy sheer drape button up top. Color Blocking is still trending this season, this Sonia Rykiel multicolored clutch bag is a must have. Last week we talked about French designers, and Sonia Rykiel was one of them, although she wasn't discussed in the Women's Accessories department, her accessories are so amazing as well as her designs..**TURQUOISE WILSON**

trickle down theory with french fashion

From the french runway to easily accessed stores in the u.s. some recent trends are hitting our stores. in my presentation last week i showed trends like cut outs and color blocking in shape hugging strategic areas. i showed this Monique Lhuiller dress (left picture) and a dress from Urban Outfitters (right picture) see the resemblance? i also found this new Urban Outfitters blazer that reminds me of a very very watered down Theirry Mugler. we may not have the real thing but at least we can have these affordable knock offs.

French EyeWear

French eyewear is on and pop'n this season theses glasses

by Face a Face has multi colored plastic on the side and a solid color

in the lens area. Many Americans should take notes from the French when it 

comes to eyewear. Glasses can make or break and outfit. I hope glasses like

these are adapted into American style more.  Glasses should make a statement.

This the class went over french style, the thing that stands out the most 

was that the new trend was neutrals. Getting away from lots of color

and sticking to neutrals with maybe a pop of color here or there. This

dress is a great representation of how a neutral dress can be very sexy.

Smaller Handbags this SEASON!!

Again, using Instagram i have chosen to share a picture directly from Marc Jacobs page. It shows a picture inside one of his stores. While looking closely to detail and each item in the picture, everything is on trend. The reason i chose this specific picture from his page was because its shows the new trend for handbags. We are all used to oversize bags but this season smaller bags are becoming trendy. Elongated silhouettes, short handles and minimal hardware is in!

Heel-LESS

When going over footwear in class, involving US and Italian fashions, there were many different designs. A lot of the high heels for women were innovative and very inspired by the 60's and 70's but some were very new in regards to structure. We looked at a couple pairs of heels without a heel. The example below is a picture i came across on Instagram. Instagram is a social networking site that allows you to post pictures and follow other people as well. I follow a lot of fashion pages which are on point with trends so i figured i would share my findings and anyone with an Instagram i highly recommend following them!

Deborah Ann Harry, an American singer-songwriter and actress, best known for being the lead singer of the punk rock and new wave band Blondie. On trend for Men's Sportswear/ Street Wear are vintage tees, this vintage Deborah Ann Harry tee was a tee I found on Patricia Field Online Store.
