Dropped Shoulders by Angelica Murray

The dropped shoulder trend is making a big comeback this Fall season as seen in these designs from French designers: Celine, Lanvin, Rick Owens, and Sonia Rykiel's Fall 2011 collections. Extended, sloped shoulders are sculpted into round cocoon shapes, sometimes with contrasting shoulder panels for added interest. Look for this shape in jackets, blouses, dresses, coats, and sweaters.

Eley Kishimoto

Lately I have been spotting the Chevron trend as seen in these two images by Eley Kishimoto's Fall Winter 2011 collection.  The entire collection was highly involved with bright bold colors along with prints, polka dots, and stripes.

Kenzo

Here in Kenzo's winter/fall 2011 collection for menswear, we see a trend that we haven't seen lately.  High rise waisted pants on both images above fastened with a thin belt.  This look definitely reminds me of the 40's era of the 19th century.  Not to mention the knit v neck sweater pullovers and vests paired with a tie.

Yohji Yamamoto

Here in Yamamoto's fall/winter collection 2011, he is using the sheer trend on all three outfits above.  The look is also a grunge look which seems to be making it's way on trend again.  The prints and graphics shown are also interesting and the length of the top is very flowy giving it a feminine appeal to to these outfits.
