This spring and summer season showed us a play on volume (width) and exaggeration of the silhouettes we saw on the runways. Particularly in women's sleeves and skirts, we saw a juxtaposition of the voluminous skirts and sleeves with something more tailored and narrow to balance it out. This created a perfect harmonious look. Here are a few designers who cranked up the volume dial!

Men in Black by: David Molina
Black is back and better than ever on the runways. Particularly so on the male side of the runways. Every designer seemed to tip the hat off and do their own little tribute to the late and great Johnny Cash, who was known as "the man in black". Not only was that the name of one of his albums, it was also how he was known for dressing. With that said here are a few designers who payed homage to the iconic Mr. Cash.

The Little Black Dress by Mariel Billos
We all know that the LBD (Little Black Dress) is a classic staple item, but rarely do we find it as such a huge trend in summer resort wear.
When designers showed their collections for the Resort 2015 season recently, the little black dress was everywhere! Typically black is a hue reserved for the dreary months of fall and winter, but it appears to be a major trend not only for next year's resort wear but for this summer as well.
I'm on the fence about this new summer trend, myself, but we can all agree on one thing, at least black is slimming!

tropics coming to Holland - Kayla Ricci
No money to go on vacation? Designers in Holland say you don't need it. They are using patterns in their clothing to make you feel like you are on a tropical island somewhere. More and more designers all over the world are picking up on this trend. Will we start purchasing this or is it still to busy and out there for us in the USA?

Crop it Like it's Hot by Mariel Billos
I'm loving a crop top this season, and apparently I'm not the only one!
Crop tops are everywhere we look for the Spring/Summer 2014 season and I hope they become a classic staple! Wear one with your favorite jeans and sandals this summer or dress one up with a chic midi-skirt and heels for a night on the town. Don't be afraid to try this trend, the crop top can be surprisingly flattering on most figures.
