The Torque Necklace ~ Taylor Crouse

The torque necklace is making a huge statement on the runway this spring. The torque necklace was a big piece of celtic jewelry. It was a powerful symbol, perhaps representing the wearer's free-born status, and was often complemented with additional rings worn about the arms and wrists. Torques were made from copper, bronze, silver, and gold. They were worn by both men and women, and are depicted as such in both Classical and Celtic sculptures.Below you will see the torque necklace with a twist, making an appearance in the spring 2014 Chanel runway show.

This fall, a new take on traditional gowns will hit the streets: Sheer, long dresses that almost look like "tattoos on the body". These dresses feature intricate beading and lace designs, ranging from a pallet of fall colors that feature red, black, and nude. From Jason Wu, to McQueen, these dresses leave much to the imagination! I look forward to seeing some of these designs on future red carpets!

Currently in Spring 2014 we are seeing tons of floral, and this typically dies down as we move into fall fashion.  This year floral is here to stay but it moving into more romantic vibe with rose patters.  Dusty colors will complement other fall trends and now floral prints can be worn year round!!!

Chevron hits the runway in the fall rtw-Ashton-Paige Stiles

In February Missoni hit the run way with the urban jungle theme.  The clothes have two major trends right now.  Lots of oranges and yellow tones are used throughout the entire collection.  Also there is tons of chevron patterns throughout the new collection mainly in the outerwear and skirts!!

This week is all about the new trend.  Many individuals would take graphics from well-known artists and put them onto t-shirts.  This is now a major craze in the fashion industry.  Tons of designers are turning paintings and works of art into images on fabric.  They are giving the term 'walking fashion' a very literal meaning.  These examples display casual and high end versions of the trend that is not only happening in the United States.
