Fever Footwear

This is a preview of a lower end line of shoes called Fever. These shoes follow many of the trends we discuss in class and can even be viewed as rip off of some higher end brands we studied. In keeping with trend the shoes are highly embellished, metallic, peep-toe's, booties, have zippers, spikes, lace and buckles. The first shoe in particular could be viewed as new because the pump is very unique. It is open with the metallic fabric on the inside and the white sole reminds me a little of a sneaker. With this shoe being considered "new" we can see how it plays off of higher end designers who also do these type of things. Click on the link above to see the slide show.

A Fan of the Blog

I have never blogged before this class/assignment. I truly enjoyed searching for cutting-edge trends and current events in the fashion industry. I also enjoyed reading what my fellow class mates have found. For me, it is hard to stay on top of whats new in fashion around the world, while taking a full load of classes, work, personal life etc. - this assignment forced me to stay current (but was not consuming all of my time, which was great!) I loved the YouTube fashion videos on the top of the blog page - was sad to see them gone.

The Evil Eye Trend

Lately I've been seeing many different versions of 'evil eye' jewelry.
Jewelry designer Kara Ross has teamed up with her childhood friend Tory Burch on a line of evil-eye cuffs, rings, and necklaces in the palette of Burch's fall 2010 ready-to-wear collection.

Fashion goes affordable with Zara

Zara has opened its first outlet store in Delhi. They want fashion to be affordable for all, they decided to open its first outlet flagship store in Delhi because they are aware of Indian women being more fashion conscious and they thought the time was right to branch out. Zara wants to focus more on the customer in this particular store, the merchandise is based on the consumer's demand. The store has something for everyone, they covered all bases from classic to trendy for men, woman, and child. They are not going to hire a brand ambassador, they want the customer to decide for themselves.

I think Zara is on the right track, India is one of the new trends in fashion. There will soon be a race for this market as their desire for fashion grows.

Bic

Vivienne Gibson is the founder of new lable Chewed by Tuesday. Limited-edition designs (each piece comes with a signed authentication certificate by the designer). Her first collection takes the simple, everyday “bic pen lid” and makes it an art piece to wear around the neck in precious metal. As to where the name came from, “Chewed by Tuesday is based on those random items that people chew (but aren’t meant to)."
