Trend in Italian women's foot wear picked up by American designer

A big trend in Italian women's shoes was the use of lucite in their designs. A widely popular style is the ballerina shoe. American designer Michael Kors has used lucite in his ballerina shoe making this ordinary shoe have an innovative twist. Click on the link to view this shoe.

  1. Michael Kors also used the popular style of the raised toe, that we saw in Italy too. I covered a lot of ballerina shoes in my research of woman's shoes in France. They are really popular all over the world. I wonder who came out with them first;as a fashion shoe that is?

  2. that TOP AMERICAN DESIGNER, MICHAEL KORRS, does it again. a watered down, mass appeal design, that he masquerades as his own creation. well, good for him. he's making a fortune and being on project runway definitely helps.
at last he has someone on his team sppotting trends.
incidently.........this trend started in the 1950's and was worn by teens and young twentysomethings (remember the lecture this week - 1950's teens - new target market). it was introduced as a sports wear accessory to be worn with CAPRI PANTS and SKIRTS w/ CRINOLINES. gene d.
